Several banks in Australia had their websites crashed due to a failure in web service company. also the banking app were out of service. ANZ, Westpac, St George, ME bank, Macquarie Bank, Allianz, and the Commonwealth Bank were among the banks that had their web sites crashed. Not only the banks few airlines services had been affected by the the crash. The web service company Akamai had admitted that the source of the problem was theirs.

Australia had a difficult season due to massive floods but after the floods the regions are covered in massive spider webs. In one area the spider web is almost long as 1km. The experts say that spiders create such webs to avoid flood and to stay in a higher place. But many have found the sight of the massive web blankets beautiful. After a dreadful flood season some are quite relaxed with the sight.

Israel had announced that they have carried out air strikes in Gaza after Palestinian launched incendiary balloons from that area. It was the first major flair up since the 11 day attacks.

Despite the conflict Israel will send over 1 million COVID vaccines to Palestine as part of their deal to share shots. And the Palestinian authorities may return the vaccine later this year.

Earlier this month El Salvador had announced that they are thinking of formally adopt the digital currency Bitcoin. But the world bank had rejected the proposal due to the concerns over transparency and the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining. They aim to use Bitcoin as a parallel legal tender alongside the US dollar. Last week, El Salvador became the first country in the world to officially classify Bitcoin as a legal currency.

A red supergiant in the constellation of Orion called Betelgeuse had abruptly darkened in late 2019, early 2020. The scientists suspected that it might explode. But a team using the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile says the cause was almost certainly a giant dust cloud between us and the star.

China has launched three astronauts into orbit to begin occupation of the country’s new space station. It is China’s longest crewed space mission to date and the first in nearly five years. They are to spend three months aboard the Tianhe module some 380km (236 miles) above the Earth. The astronauts participated are Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo.

As parts of the US south-west reported dangerously high temperatures, California has declared a state of emergency. Californians have also been urged to conserve energy during peak times, as temperatures are expected to remain between 100-110F (37-430C) until Sunday. In California’s Death Valley National Park, typically one of the hottest spots in the world, a thermometer at the Furnace Creek Visitor’s Center marked 130F (54C) on Thursday.

Juneteenth, A new holiday is named to commemorate the end of slavery in the US. On 19 June 1865 – months after the northern US states defeated the South in a civil war fought over slavery – enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, Texas, were told they were free. President Joe Biden said that it was a great honor to be able to sign and to make holiday official.
