5 Scenes in Movies that Recorded Without CGI

In today’s film industry CGI or Computer Generated Imagery is used widely to create something in fiction or hard to build up. This software gives the movie another level of admiration. But there are some scenes that we thought or we would believe that it was produced with the help of CGI. But not these scenes. Let’s see what they are……

  1. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

Scene – Tom Cruise Climbing up Burg Kalifa

Many thought that this scene was recorded using CGI technology as climbing up the tallest tower in the world would be harder specially even if they did usually a stuntman would do so instead the actor. In this case Tom Cruise him self climbed up the tower of course with safety precautions. Neither a stuntman nor a replica building was used to film this scene.

2. Spider Man

Scene – Tobey Maguire catches the food tray

It was cool for a castout kid to standout in his school cafeteria, Saving his crush and her lunch. Which is something only the spider man himself could do it. The scene was so impossible that it was considered too good to be true. But guess what the actor played spider man Tobey Maguire did the scene without the help of CGI. They had to do more than 150 takes for this scene alone. But somehow they managed to nail it.

3. Jurassic Park

Dinosour

Jurassic park was a 1990s big budget film triology, that obviously must have used CGI. But trust me that huge dinosaur in the movie was not a CGI trick. The animal was casted out to the original shape and size. Which was used again in the Jurassic World in 2015 too.

4. Interstellar

Corn Field

If you have watched intersteller you must be familiar with the never ending corn fields. An easy task if the CGI was used. But in reality the director of the movie Christopher Nolan planted the 500 Acres of corn before the filming started. The corn fields you see in the movie are 100% real. After the filming had completed Nolan sold off the corn and balanced the budget with a profit.

5. Lord of The Rings

Orcs

The LOTR triology is one of the movie sagas in Hollywood history that used a huge amount of CGI. But not all of the tricks are animated. The Orcs and other wild-lings in Saruman’s army are mainly products of full body makeups.
